Who are we?
The Imam Development Program (IDP) was established in South Africa in 2014 with the aim to assist currently employed Imams and community leaders to empower, develop and refine their skills. We believe through developing effective community leaders; we can transform entire communities.

Maulana Rameez Arends
A Martial Arts enthusiast and Imam in a community ridden with substance abuse and gangsterism, Maulana Rameez uses his background, & the benefit of an IDP skills workshop in Archery to engage at risk youth. Teaching them self defense & the Sunnah Sport of Archery.
Based in Cape Town, South Africa and a graduate from Darul Uloom Zakariyyah, Imam Rameez is also active in neighboring communities where you will often find him conducting the Jumu’ah Khutbah and doing da’wah.

Our Programs
IDP runs a series of innovative and need-sensitive programs across the communities our Imams serve.
